Tag and Permit Information
The hunter is responsible for purchasing their tag/tags and applying for permits on their own. This can be done through Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks website at http://www.fwp.mt.gov or through the mail if MTFWP sends a packet to your address.
- Non resident hunters must apply for a Deer Combination Tag (no special permit required). Resident hunters need an over the counter Deer A tag. The deadline to apply is typically March 15. Drawing results are typically released the middle or April. Sometimes after the special draw, there are Deer Combination Tags, Elk Combination Tags and Big Game Combination Tags left over to purchase over the counter through the MT FWP website. We do not suggest for you to wait and take a chance to purchase a tag after the draw. We ask you to apply for the appropriate tag by the March 15 deadline.
- If you are Rifle Antelope Hunting with us, you need to apply for the special permit by the deadline, typically June 1. Contact us for the permit area you need to apply for. Results of drawing are typically the week of August 1.
- If you are Archery Antelope Hunting with us, you need to apply for the special permit by the deadline, typically June 1. Apply for the antelope permit 900-20. Results of drawing are typically the week of August 1.
If you have any questions with the application process, do not hesitate to contact us for this is an area that can not be treated lightly.
